FINANCIAL PLANNING WEEK
October 1-7, 2007
Governor Jim Gibbons and Mayor Oscar Goodman recognized
the Financial Planning Association® of Nevada and the
work it does by proclaiming October 1-7, 2007 as Financial Planning Week in
Nevada and Las Vegas.
 As
part of its Financial Planning Week Celebration, The FPA of Nevada held a half day seminar for leaders of Las Vegas' women and childrens' shelters introducing them to our
Pro Bono Program.
 Volunteers
from the FPA Nevada Chapter presented the six parts of our Pro Bono
Program. The seminar was kicked-off with a testimonial from Jennifer
Donaldson, Director of WestCare, and Dee Wirth, who participated in the
first program, which we presented to WestCare in 2007.
Later in the week, Chapter leaders met with leaders of
neighboring chapters from New Mexico, Arizona, and Northern Nevada along
with Regina Robuck and Duane Thompson from FPA's national offices. At this
regional retreat, Chapter leaders discussed the future of Financial Planning
and how we can best serve clients in our communities. |
