Upcoming Programs

The FPASN Board of Directors is planning the best program yet for next year. They are meeting in retreat this weekend to put together a curriculum of top notch educational and networking programs for the next 12 months. This will include a symposium in the fall that promises to become a premier annual event. You will get more information in the January PNB.

In the meantime, you have an opportunity to tell the board exactly what you are looking for. If you haven’t already done, please go online and take our survey, you don’t need to me a member to participate and it will only take three minutes.  Just click here to go to the survey page. After taking the survey browse our website to see what we’re up to.

News Briefs

The Annual Holiday Banquet was a huge success. Our guest speaker who came in from Kansas City, Barbara McMahon, gave us an update on exciting changes taking place at National as well as an outlook on new technology develops coming soon to provide members with more and better information that will promote the financial planning profession. Barbara is a CFP® practitioner who is also a volunteer on the FPA Chapter Leaders Resource Council.

President Andrew Patai presented Past-President Frank Joy with a plaque for his past service.  Frank was president two terms over the last twenty years. Frank Joy has kept the chapter afloat during some hard times and was honored by the Board.

October’s Program

We neglected to include a report in November’s PNB on the October 25 Double Header. The Annual Tax Update and CFP® Ethics program was just about the best attended program ever. Lawry’s had to stretch the walls to get us all in. As a portent of things to come, we have asked Lawry’s to give us a larger room for our 2008 programs; we’re going to need it.

Announcing Sponsorship Opportunities

The Board of Directors is rolling out its new Sponsorship program.

With over 90 members (and still growing) as well as over 200 allied professionals on our contact list, the chapter has a lot to offer its corporate sponsors.

There will be three levels of corporate sponsorship, Platinum, Gold, and Silver.

*       Platinum Sponsorship ($3,000) Annual Sponsor + Symposium

*       Gold Sponsorship ($1,500)—Annual Sponsor

*       Silver Sponsorship ($750)—meeting sponsor

For a complete listing of sponsorship benefits, please email admin@fpanv.org.

If your company would like to become a corporate sponsor for 2008, or if you work with financial service and product providers who would like to gain recognition while promoting financial planning in southern Nevada, have them contact Judy Moore or Dennis Filangeri for additional information about sponsorship opportunities for 2008. You don’t have to be a member to be a corporate sponsor.
