Greetings Dennis: | |

Dear Fellow
Planners:
With Presidents’ Day behind us and the
Olympics underway, we are now turning our attention to what the new decade
will bring. With all the
recent political upheaval, questions still remain concerning the economy,
market volatility and the national debt – not to mention global concerns
and whether we will have any estate tax reform. So for the time being, it makes it
a very interesting time to be planners. Of course we do what we’ve always
done; identify client’s objectives and give sound financial
advice.
On the educational front, we continue
with the second session, Investments and Retirement Planning of the
“Fiscally Fit” financial series at the Barbara Greenspun Women’s Center,
our pro-bono education program.
Our February session was well attended despite our rare rain
event. The final initial
program featuring Insurance will be held on March 9th. See below for more details and to
volunteer.
We are also planning for our second
quarterly meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 28th. Be sure to mark your calendars for
this as well as upcoming ‘Tween
events. We hope that your year is off to a good start and we want you to know that the FPA of Nevada is here to provide support, education and outreach. By partnering together, we can strengthen alliances and expand our reach. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. Upcoming Programs
The Financial Planning Association of Nevada is planning a ’Tween networking event on March 30, 4-7 PM. Professionals from the areas of financial planning, accountancy, family law, and divorce and alternative dispute resolution in the Las Vegas area will be invited to participate, review some of the current "hot financial topics," and develop future case relationships. We are still working out the venue details and it would be helpful to know how many folks would be interested in attending this special event. Please send an email to exec@fpanv.org for more information and to indicate your interest in participating. We plan to apply for one CFP® and CLE credit for this event. This will be a wine & cheese event. If you or your company would like to sponsor this event, let us know so we can appropriately advertise your participation as well.
Save the date. Our next regularly scheduled educational meeting will take place April 28, 8 AM - 1 PM at the UNLV Tam Alumni Center. We are currently lining up the program and speakers. Check the website for updates.
The next Fiscally Fit Public Financial Literacy Program, "Risk Management and Insurance," will be held on March 9, 6-8 PM at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center in Henderson. Please contact Eleesa Aimaq for more information. News Briefs
