In
2007, The Financial Planning Association of Nevada partnered with
WestCare-Nevada
providing a series of six workshops on the basics of financial planning to
WestCare's residential clients.
The purpose of the
workshops is to help persons in need establish a sense of financial
planning, goal setting, and budgeting. This will help them develop the
financial skills needed to succeed in today's economy.
The workshops are provided without fee by Certified
Financial Planning™ practitioners and
other related strategic professional volunteers.
Due to the success of the program, the Financial Planning
Association of Nevada is expanding its outreach to other facilities
in the Las Vegas area. It hopes to provide in-service training to
residential facility counselors who can work closely with the residential
clients to help them get started in achieving their financial goals.
In addition, the FPA-NV is working on a program to provide
one-on-one counseling for referred individuals in need of financial
counseling who wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford to pay for such
services. |
